John Hynes, the current head coach of the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League, was born on February 10, 1975. Hynes spent the following six seasons as a head coach with USA Hockey's National Team Development Program after the 2002-03 season. As the team's head coach, he had a 216-113-19-9 overall record.
He was the head coach of the United States Under-17 Development Team in 2008–09, with a 42–17–6 record.
