The John Butler Trio, headed by guitarist and vocalist John Butler, is a diverse roots/jam band from Australia. "Three" (2001) and "Living 2001–2002" (2003) are two of the band's albums that have gone platinum in Australia and entered the top 10 of the Australian album charts in those years.
On March 15, 2004, the album "Sunrise Over Sea" debuted at number one on the Australian charts, becoming a gold record in its first week of sales. "Grand National," their next album, was released on March 27, 2007. Jarrah Records, which John Butler co-owns with West Australian folk band the Waifs, markets the band's recordings independently.
