John Burton Race Biography

John Burton-Race, a British Michelin-starred chef, television personality, and celebrity chef, was born on May 1, 1957, and is best known for the Channel 4 series French Leave, as well as its sequels Return of the Chef and I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here. He had an appearance on ITV's I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! in November 2007. He had a number of major spats with fellow participant Lynne Franks during the competition, owing to their diametrically opposed personalities. He was also the camp's principal cook, and he despised fellow contender Janice Dickinson's unwillingness to eat kangaroo, crocodile, or possum meat. On November 24, the audience voted Burton Race off I'm a Celebrity, making him the sixth participant to exit the 2007 series. He added that as a chef, he was very open to sampling various sorts of cuisine, which is why he despised Dickinson's unwillingness to taste the meal he had made during his last interview with presenters Ant & Dec.
