John Branch is a Pulitzer Prize-winning essayist and writer who as of now works at the New York Times. In 2013, he won the Pulitzer Prize in Feature Writing for Snow Fall: The Avalanche at Tunnel Creek an interactive media story on a fatal torrential slide in Washington State.
The branch was a finalist for the 2011 Pulitzer Prize Punched Out his arrangement about the demise of ice hockey player Derek Boogaard. He is the creator of the memoir Boy on Ice: The Life and Death of Derek Boogaard. The book won the 2015 PEN/ESPN Award for Literary Sports Writing.
