The trailblazing Amazon series Transparent, a touching comedy that deftly examines identity, love, sex, god, and limits through the lives of a complex American family, was created by Joey Soloway. Transparent garnered 24 Emmy nominations, 8 Emmy wins, and 2 Golden Globe nominations. Soloway cofounded 5050by2020, a Time's Up strategic project and network for artist empowerment. In order to support 10 artists of color who also identify as transgender, non-binary, handicapped, undocumented, or formerly undocumented, they established the Disruptors Fellowship, a five-month program. Along with Topple Books, a Little A imprint, Soloway launched Topple, an intersectional brand for the revolution that produces TV and cinema content. She Wants It: Desire, Power, and Toppling the Patriarchy and Tiny Ladies in Shiny Pants are two memoirs written by Soloway. The critically acclaimed Amazon series I Love Dick, which was adapted from Chris Kraus's equally acclaimed book of the same name, is another addition to American, Jewish, Feminist, and Trans culture. In addition, Soloway contributed as a writer and producer on the films Six Feet Under, The United States of Tara, and their debut feature, Afternoon Delight, which won the 2013 Sundance Film Festival's director's prize. In addition to co-founding East Side Jews, the spoken word program Sit n' Spin, and the live theatrical productions The Real Live Brady Bunch, The Miss Vagina Pageant, and Hollywood Hellhouse, Soloway also formed the community group East Side Jews.
