My ancestors were devout Catholics. They chose to join the Baptist church when I was approximately 6 years old. My oldest brother was probably the first to convert to the Baptist faith, followed by my mother and father. When I was approximately ten years old, I embraced Christ and was baptized.
I was reared around a large number of Christian boys and girls, including the children of Baptist pastors, and we all became close friends. We're still doing it. My mother was the family's rock, and she was always talking to us and informing us about our faith and values.
