Joe Avezzano was an American football player and coach who was born on November 17, 1943. He was a center at Florida State University and played college football there. He was chosen and played professionally with the Boston Patriots in the American Football League for three seasons in 1966.
He was also a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers' 1967 preseason roster. He began his coaching career at Massillon's Washington High School, then went on to Florida State University in 1968 and Iowa State University from 1969 to 1972.
