Joanna was conceived in the town of Blenheim in the Malborough territory of New Zealand. As a small kid, she lived in Zambia and Solomon Island before her folks and four kin moved to Haiti. Despite the fact that she came back to New Zealand normally quite a bit of her instruction was led by means of correspondence school.
She went to Auckland University (New Zealand) to do her BA and MA and from that point to the Australian National University in Canberra to finish a doctorate on ladies in nineteenth-century Ireland. After brief posts during the 1980s and mid 1990s at the Australian National University and Emmanuel College Cambridge, she was designated to Birkbeck College in 1992.
