Jim West, CDP, CDRP, a well-known financial technology consultant/analyst, is the President of Express Concepts, Inc., commonly referred to as ECI Marketing Alliances. Believing that the financial industry needed a refreshing change in the way that vendors served the industry and in the way the industry developed product especially retail products, he formed ECI Marketing Alliances.
Prior to forming ECI Marketing Alliances, Jim was the Corporate Director of Marketing Alliances for Fiserv, Inc. Jim is experienced in managing and marketing a variety of financial technology products, including mainframes, microprocessors, and net management. He has managed communication and information technology in the military and the insurance and banking industries. His systems management and marketing experience includes computer programming, data and voice networks, computer operations, system installation, technical writing, customer service, and business resumption planning.
Jim's eclectic background began in the middle 1970’s when he pioneered the design and programming of real-time ATM and POS systems for a group of thrifts in the Midwest. In the middle 1980’s, he strengthened the business case and was responsible for many installations of office-related micro-products using LAN technology in a marketplace that was dominated by mainframes and word processors. In the early 1990’s, Jim was involved in the research of Computer Output to Laser Disk, which led to the conversion of hundreds of institutions to non-film archives.
More recently, Jim has been responsible for new technology and discovery marketing for a financial processing company with a $2 billion a year revenue stream. With more than 30 years in the research, design, marketing, and management of financial information systems, he has published several papers on information technology, has appeared on cable television to discuss finance-related technology issues, and is a recognized speaker at conferences throughout the United States.
