Jim Murphy is the performance coach and #1 New York Times bestselling author of “Inner Excellence: Train Your Mind for Extraordinary Performance and the Best Possible Life” (2020).  A former professional baseball player drafted by the Chicago Cubs, his playing career ended due to vision issues. He later coached with the Texas Rangers and South Africa’s Olympic baseball team. He has worked with elite athletes across all playing services, executives, and high performers. In 2003, he moved to the Sonoran Desert for several years of intensive research, interviewing dozens of sport psychologists, coaches, and Olympic trainers. This work formed the basis of “Inner Excellence”,  which teaches mindset principles for peak performance under pressure while cultivating deeper fulfillment, joy, and confidence. The book surged to bestseller status after Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown was filmed reading it on the sidelines during an NFL playoff game in early 2025.
