Jim Cantrell is an entrepreneur, mechanical engineer, and road racer from the United States of America. Vector Launch, Inc.'s CEO and co-founder. He worked as an independent consultant to aerospace companies for 15 years after working at the French Space Agency Centre Nationale D'Etudes Spatiales and the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab.
He was on the founding team work of Moon Express and SpaceX.. In 1989, Cantrell earned the NASA Innovation Award for Mars Balloon Technology. He has written twenty technical papers. Cantrell, a mechanical engineer by trade, also dabbles in road racing and has competed in Thunderhill Raceway Park's 25h of Thunderhill and the 24h of Daytona Classic.
