Jim Bridenstine Biography

A local of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and previous agent of Oklahoma's first legislative area, James Frederick "Jim" Bridenstine was named and confirmed as NASA's thirteenth director on April 23, 2018. During his residency as an individual from the U.S. Place of Representatives, Bridenstine served on the Armed Services Committee and the Science, Space, and Technology Committee. He is the previous chief director of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum and Planetarium. Bridenstine started his profession in government administration in the U.S. Naval force, where he flew the E-2C Hawkeye off the USS Abraham Lincoln plane carrying a warship. It was there that Bridenstine flew battle missions in Iraq and Afghanistan and accumulated the vast majority of his 1,900 flight hours and 333 carrier-captured landings. He later moved to the F-18 Hornet and flew at the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center, the parent order to TOPGUN.
