Jessica Sanchez’s voice has been compared to music legends Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. She was a runner-up on the 11th season of American Idol. She was born and raised in Chula Vista, California and is the daughter to a Filipina mother and Mexican-American navy veteran father.
At age 2, she began singing and by age 10, she was already competing in talent shows like America's Got Talent and Showtime at the Apollo and also at national singing competitions. Sanchez auditioned for American Idol at age 16 and was the runner-up while Phillip Phillips emerged as the winner.
