Jens Voigt is a former professional road cyclist from Germany who raced for many teams, the most recent of which being UCI ProTeam Trek Factory Racing. Voigt won the Tour de France yellow jersey twice, but he was never a serious candidate for the overall crown due to his lack of mountain climbing abilities.
His career highlights include a record-tying five wins in the Critérium International, a handful of one-week stage events, and two Tour de France stage triumphs. He established a new hour record in September 2014. Matthias Brändle broke the record in October of the same year.
