Jenny Han Biography

Jenny Han is an American author and screenwriter best known for her young adult novel series, “The Summer I Turned Pretty” and “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”, both of which explore themes of love, identity, and coming of age. Her Korean-American heritage influences her storytelling, often featuring diverse characters navigating cultural and personal challenges. Han gained widespread recognition after “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” was adapted into a successful Netflix film trilogy (2018–2021), for which she served as an executive producer and screenwriter. “The Summer I Turned Pretty” also became a popular Amazon Prime series, premiering in 2022. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and The New School’s MFA program, Han has written several other novels, including “Shug” (2006) and “Clara Lee and the Apple Pie Dream” (2011).
