Jennifer Hyman is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Rent the Runway, a business that has transformed the retail industry by making designer dress and accessory rentals a convenient and accessible luxury experience for millions of women. Since Rent the Runway’s launch in November 2009, Jennifer has managed all areas of the business including technology, fashion, sales, marketing, operations, customer service and team management, while also serving as a company spokesperson. Best known within the entrepreneurial and fashion communities for her unmatched marketing abilities, Jennifer was named as the Chief Marketing Officer of Fortune magazine’s “Executive Dream Team.”

Jennifer co-founded Rent the Runway with her Harvard Business School classmate Jennifer Fleiss. The company has received approximately $190 million in venture capital from Fidelity, Technology Crossover Ventures, Bain Capital and Kleiner Perkins. With over 6 million members, 1,100 employees and over 450 designer brands, Rent the Runway is pioneering an apparel business in the new sharing economy with the overall mission to democratize luxury for women everywhere.

Jennifer and Jenny founded the Rent the Runway Foundation and launched Project Entrepreneur, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and advocating for women. In partnership with UBS Project Entrepreneur hosts a venture competition where three female-founded startups receive funding and a spot in a five-week accelerator program hosted at Rent the Runway.

Prior to Rent the Runway, Jennifer was the Director of Business Development at IMG where she focused on the creation of new media businesses for IMG’s Fashion Division. She also ran an online advertising sales team at WeddingChannel.com and was an in-house entrepreneur at Starwood Hotels, creating Starwood’s first wedding business, which was recognized on The Oprah Winfrey Show for its innovation.
