Jennifer Healey envisions a future in which computers and cellphones are capable of sensing human emotions, and automobiles are able to communicate with one another, preventing accidents. She works as a scientist at Intel Corporation Research Labs, where she studies the technologies and systems that will enable these big breakthroughs. Healey has a Ph.D.
in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT. While there, she and Rosalind Picard pioneered "Affective Computing," creating the first wearable computer with physiological sensors and a video camera that allows the wearer to track their everyday activities as well as how they feel while performing them.
