Jenner Tomaska Biography

Jenner was up in the Chicago suburbs and began his professional culinary career as a chef and dishwasher at a neighborhood restaurant at the age of 14. He then moved on to Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he received degrees in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management. Jenner worked at Hilton Head after college before returning to Chicago to pursue a career in fine dining. He ultimately obtained a position at MK in Chicago, working with chefs Michael Kornick and Erick Williams. Jenner left MK after two years to join the Next team, where he swiftly rose through the ranks to Sous Chef and eventually Chef de Cuisine in May 2015. In April 2016, Jenner was promoted to Executive Chef. In 2016 and 2017, he was a nominee for the coveted James Beard Rising Star Chef Award. While Jenner prefers classic French methods, he is always eager to expand his knowledge and skillset by working with Next's dynamic and ever-changing menus.
