Jay D. Keasling is CEO of the Joint BioEnergy Institute and is the Hubbard Howe Jr. distinguished professor of biochemical engineering at University of California Berkeley. Keasling is also a professor in the departments of bioengineering and chemical and biomolecular engineering. He is a senior faculty scientist and director of the Physical Biosciences Division of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
