Javier Colon is an American singer and songwriter from Hartford, Connecticut, who was born on April 29, 1978. His musical style has been described as acoustic soul. Before going solo, he was a member of EmcQ and The Derek Trucks Band, and he collaborated with a variety of performers.
He was contracted to Capitol Records as artist Javier from 2002 until 2006. The deal was eventually canceled in 2006, and Javier Colon became a solo artist with his own label, Javier Colon Music. In 2011, he won the first season of NBC's The Voice, winning $100,000 and securing a recording contract with Universal Republic Records.
