Jason DeSena Trennert is the managing partner and chief investment strategist of Strategas Research Partners LLC, as well as the chairman and CEO of Strategas Securities, LLC, the firm's broker-dealer affiliate. Mr. Trennert co-founded Strategas in 2006, with just five workers at the time. Today, the business employs over 45 research analysts, institutional salesmen, and sales traders in its New York and Washington, D.C. offices, and it is fortunate to claim among its customers some of the world's top mutual funds, investment advisors, pensions and endowments, and hedge funds. Trennert has built a reputation as a sharp and attentive market watcher throughout the course of his career. Top institutional investors and business leaders throughout the world read his in-depth analyses and funny, frequently contrarian research papers. He is a frequent guest host on CNBC's "Squawk Box" and "Bloomberg Surveillance" with Tom Keene, and he is widely mentioned in the local and international press. He is the author of the popular investing book New Markets, New Strategies, which was released by McGraw Hill in 2005. Trennert was the chief investment strategist and senior managing director of International Strategy & Investment (ISI) Group prior to creating Strategas, where he created and supervised two of the firm's most prominent and significant research initiatives, its company surveys and investment strategy divisions. Trennert is the treasurer and a member of the Board of Trustees of La Scuola d'Italia, the country's first K-12 bilingual school where students are taught in both Italian and English. He is also a member of the Columbus Citizens Foundation's Board of Governors, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing an awareness of Italian-American history and offering scholarships to deserving students. He holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and a B.S. in international economics from Georgetown University.
