Since October 2012, Janina Fels has been a professor of Medical Acoustics at RWTH Aachen University. She earned her diploma in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Electrical Communication Engineering from RWTH Aachen University and her doctorate from the Institute of Technical Acoustics there (PhD in 2008).
Her dissertation used measurement and modeling techniques to investigate the evolution of binaural hearing and ear canal impedances from toddlers to adults. Since January 2008, she has been in charge of the study group Medical Acoustics, Binaural Technology, Spatial Audio, Audiology, and Psychoacoustics at RWTH Aachen University's Institute for Technical Acoustics.
