Janelle Arthur Biography

She played Dolly Parton in a theatrical presentation of Dolly's Life at Dollywood when she was eight years old. Arthur began working at the Country Tonite Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, as a young actor in 2001. Arthur returned to the Country Tonite Theater stage as an adult performer and stayed with the group for another four years until moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 2010 to pursue her music career. Arthur tried out for American Idol in Charlotte, North Carolina. She has previously auditioned in the 10th and 11th seasons. She was cut in the group round in the tenth season, but she made it to the Las Vegas round in the eleventh. She performed Elvis Presley's If I Can Dream in the semi-finals of the 12th season. She was voted into the Top 10 on March 7, 2013. She finished the season in sixth place.
