Dr. Jim Sayer is Director of the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute where he has conducted basic and translational research in the areas of connected vehicle technology advanced vehicle safety systems driving behavior and driver distraction since 1993. Dr. Sayer recently served as the Principal Investigator for the U.S.
DOT’s Connected Vehicle Safety Pilot Model Deployment program and was the primary designer and oversaw the development of the Mcity test facility at the University of Michigan. Currently he is the Principal Investigator for the Ann Arbor Connected Vehicle Test Environment and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
