James Maslow Biography

James Maslow a singer actor and dancer stars as James Diamond in Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush. He is also a member of the music group of the same name. He was born in New York City and grew up in La Jolla CA. His parents placed him in the San Diego Children's Choir where he started training as a singer. At just 10 years old James landed a minor role in the San Diego Opera's production of La boheme. By 14 he had his own agent and performed as Marius in Les miserables. In 2007 James graduated from the Coronado School of the Arts in the musical theater department. James made his television debut on an episode of iCarly in 2008. He had auditioned for Big Time Rush in 2007 and the group officially formed in 2009. They have filmed three seasons of the popular TV show as well as a movie. The band released their first album B.T.R. in 2010 and was certified Gold by the RIAA. Their second record Elevate debuted in 2011 selling 70000 copies in the first week. James co-wrote multiple songs on the album.
