James Lunday got his start studying graphic design at the Sydney Institute of Technology for three years. Soon after he decided to follow in his grandfather and great-grandfather's footsteps and began a four-year apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery.
Soon his hilarious personality and incredible carpentry skills got him noticed by the folks at Changing Rooms a hit TV show in Australia. After moving to the United States he worked as the lead carpenter on TLC's In a Fix. James hosted Rip and Renew on HGTV and is a carpenter on HGTV Showdown.
