He has worked for Chevron USA, Amerada Hess Corp., Citation Oil and Gas Corp., and other organizations as an engineer. From April until December 3, 2003, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Devon Energy Corporation. Mr. Hackett was also the President of the Houston Grand Opera Company.
