Jaime King is an actress and model. In her modeling career and early film roles she used the names Jamie King and James King which was a childhood nickname given to King by her parents because her agency already represented another Jaime — the older then-more famous model Jaime Rishar.
A successful model King was discovered at age 14 in 1993 and appeared in Vogue Mademoiselle and Harper's Bazaar among other fashion magazines. From 1998 she moved into acting taking small film roles. Her first major role was in Pearl Harbor and her first starring movie role was in Bulletproof Monk. She has since appeared as a lead in other films such as Sin City and My Bloody Valentine 3D and is starring in the television series Hart of Dixie.
Displaying a more playful personality and down-to-earth appeal than the average stone-faced supermodel King had something special that elevated her status quickly but along with her early success came big problems. Young and free with money to spend the model was on the party circuit and drug use soon became more of a lifestyle than a recreation. When the life of her up-and-coming photographer boyfriend was cut short due to drug-related problems the model was determined to straighten up her own life and entered a rehab program. By 1998 she was back in business and banking on her personality instead of just her looks as co-host of MTV's House of Style alongside Rebecca Romijn-Stamos.
