Jackie Lee-Joe is the Chief Marketing Officer at Netflix. She joined the company in July 2019. At Netflix Lee-Joe will oversee a global marketing team and a growing marketing budget. The company’s marketing spending jumped 65% in 2018 from $1.44 billion to $2.37 billion. Analysts expect that to grow this year to nearly $2.9 billion (up more than 20%).
Prior to Netflix she was Chief Marketing Officer for the BBC where she lead marketing activity across all businesses including production channels and ancillary products. She had oversight of more than 300 BBC Studios brands globally and was responsible for identifying and developing new BBC brands to ensure future growth.
In order to build awareness and reach Jackie and her team used both established and developing platforms to create innovative social strategies and campaigns to build communities. She also oversaw the development of brand extensions and digital partnerships to extend audiences’ enjoyment of our shows.
Jackie also ensured all BBC Studios’ marketing activity was in line with BBC guidelines; was consistent across the world; and provided a best-in-class service around key trade events including BBC Studios’ own annual trade event Showcase.
