I became a Christian on December 18, 1965, when I was 17 years old, after hearing the gospel for the first time through a friend. He earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from TCU. At Dallas Seminary, he majored in Greek and Hebrew. He married Leesa in 1974, and the couple has three children: Stephen, Scott, and Alese.
Leesa and Jack were both involved in Young Life in high school, and after graduation, they became Young Leaders. He began teaching Old Testament Exegesis and Semitic Languages at Dallas Seminary in 1976 when he was 27 years old. He taught for 12 years. He founded Christ Chapel, a church in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1979.
