Patrick Lewis has written and illustrated over 75 children's picture books for Knopf, Atheneum, Dial, Harcourt, Little, Brown, National Geographic, Creative Editions, Chronicle, Scholastic, and other publishers. Gulls Hold Up the Sky, his first collection of adult poetry, was released in 2010.
He just received the NCTE Excellence in Children's Poetry Award for 2010-2011, and he is the Poetry Foundation's new U.S. Children's Poet Laureate.
