J. P. Moreland Biography

I am the Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at Biola University's Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, California. I have a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Missouri, a Th.M. in theology from Dallas Theological Seminary, an M.A. in philosophy from the University of California-Riverside, and a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Southern California. I've co-founded three churches, spoken and argued on over 175 college campuses throughout the country, and worked for Campus Crusade for Christ for ten years. I worked as a bioethicist with PersonaCare Nursing Homes, Inc., based in Baltimore, Maryland, for eight years. My views have been reported by both prominent religious and non-religious publications, such as the New Scientist and PBS's "Closer to Truth," as well as Christianity Today and WORLD magazine. Kingdom Triangle, Scaling the Secular City, Consciousness and the Existence of God, The Recalcitrant Imago Dei, Love Your God With All Your Mind, The God Question, and Body and Soul are among the 30 books I've written or co-written. In addition, I have over 70 publications published in journals such as Philosophy and Phenomenological Research, American Philosophical Quarterly, Australasian Journal of Philosophy, Metaphilosophy, Philosophia Christi, and Faith and Philosophy.
