Izabella Scorupco Biography

Scorupco was born in 1970 in Biaystok, Poland, to Lech and Magdalena Skorupko. Her parents divorced when she was a year old, and she stayed with her mother. Scorupco went to Bredäng in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1978, where he learnt Swedish, English, and French. Scorupco worked as a model throughout Europe in the late 1980s and appeared on the cover of Vogue. Staffan Hildebrand spotted her in 1987 and cast her in the film Innen kan älska som vi (Nobody can love like us). She had a brief but successful career as a pop singer in the early 1990s, releasing the album IZA, which was certified gold in Sweden in 1991. In 1995, she co-starred with Pierce Brosnan in the James Bond film GoldenEye as Natalya Simonova. Scorupco married Polish ice hockey player Mariusz Czerkawski, who was then a member of the Edmonton Oilers, on December 25, 1996. They divorced in 1998 after having one daughter, Julia (born September 15, 1997). Scorupco married an American, Jeffrey Raymond, on January 30, 2003; they had a son, Jakob (born July 24, 2003), and now live in Los Angeles and New York City. Scorupco resumed her singing career in 2011, duetting with Swedish singer Peter Jöback on his track Jag Har Dig Nu and appearing in the music video. She also appeared in Jöback's short film La vie, amour, death. Scorupco went on to host Sweden's Next Top Model's spring 2012 series, but did not return for a second season. Scorupco made her comedy debut in July 2013 when she announced her lead part in Last Chance or Sista Chansen, a new romantic comedy starring David Hellenius that will be released in Summer 2014.
