In 2013, Isis Anchalee (previously Isis Wenger) began training herself to code. She worked as a software developer on the product team at OneLogin, Uber, and, subsequently, Hustle. She is also the creator of the #ILookLikeAnEngineer hashtag, which was developed to stimulate debate about gender equality in IT when OneLogin included her visage in an ad campaign.
Anchalee has presented a number of lectures, including at Tech Inclusion New York in 2017 and GHC15 in 2015. She also serves on the Women Who Code Advisory Board. When she got negative comments about her appearance in an ad campaign for OneLogin, Anchalee developed the hashtag #ILookLikeAnEngineer (an example of hashtag activism).
