Ira K. Schwartz, M.D., is a pediatrician with an interest in infectious illnesses.
Following his initial clinical education at Children's Memorial Hospital/Northwestern University Medical Center, he worked for the International Rescue Committee in rural Thailand before moving to Atlanta in 1981 to accept a position as an Epidemic Intelligence Service officer in the Division of Parasitic Diseases at the US Centers for Disease Control.
