Ian Taylor Biography

Ian Taylor became the youngest Irishman to reach the summit of the globe on May 23, 2008. Ian and a buddy set out in June 2007 to climb four summits on four continents in a year, with Mount Everest as the final destination. He has only climbed one peak above 5,000 meters before June 2007. Ian also included a charitable component, earning €70,000 with Irish charity Fields of Life to help build the Mt. Everest primary school in Uganda. Ian battled his own anxieties, demons, and the mountains from + 40c to – 40c. He saved the life of a fellow climber, and four months after two specialists warned him he wasn't fit for Everest, he reached the peak. This was a genuine story of collaboration, perseverance, and, in the end, triumph. Ian has years of experience leading teams in a corporate setting and is based in the United States and Ireland. He also leads and trains teams for mountain excursions all around the world, which he has done successfully. Ian has climbed Kilimanjaro 18 times, with a goal of 50 summits, and he has guided hundreds of individuals to achieve their mountain objectives.
