Hanomansing was born in Trinidad and raised in Sackville, New Brunswick. Hanomansing is a six-time national university debate and public speaking champion with degrees in political science, sociology, and law.

Hanomansing's award-winning broadcasting career has taken him all over the world to support the most important national and international narratives, including the agreement-in-principle for the creation of Nunavut, the San Diego Heaven's Gate cult suicides, Vancouver's 1994 Stanley Cup riots, the Exxon Valdez oil spill, Hong Kong's 1997 handover, and three Olympic games.
