Ian Crozier is an American physician who acquired the Ebola virus while working in West Africa in September 2014. Crozier was born in the modern-day Zimbabwean city of Masvingo. When he was ten years old, his family relocated to the United States. Crozier began to show symptoms of Ebola on September 6th.
Crozier was evacuated to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, on September 9 after contracting the disease, becoming the third American to be transferred there for Ebola treatment. He stayed for forty days before being released on October 19, 2014, the longest stay of any Ebola patient in the United States.
