Hwee-Pink Tan currently leads a team of ten technology and social-science researchers to bring together internet of things (IoT) technologies and social-behavioural research to enable and sustain ageing-in-place in partnership with ASTAR (the Agency for Science Technology and Research in Singapore) Tata Consultancy Services various government agencies and regional health systems as well as voluntary welfare organisations.
Prior to joining Singapore Management University he spent seven years at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) ASTAR where he was a senior scientist and concurrently the Science and Engineering Research Council programme manager for the A*STAR Sense and Sense-abilities Programme.Mr Tan is a senior member of the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineering and an adjunct faculty member with Geriatric Education and Research Institute.
