Horst M. Rechelbacher, the Austrian-born founder of the Aveda Corporation and Intelligent Nutrients, died on February 15, 2014. His desire to create goods free of hazardous chemicals sparked the growth of the natural cosmetics industry in the United States. Rechelbacher traveled to Florida in 1970 to compete in a variety of events.
During this time, he had the idea to develop Aveda, a range of all-natural hair products.
