Hillary Scott Biography

Hillary Scott is best known as one-third of Grammy-winning country band Lady Antebellum. She was born and raised in Nashville. Scott, the daughter of country performers Linda Davis and Lang Scott, launched her own career shortly after graduating from high school, working with singer/songwriter Victoria Shaw and attempting to land her own record contract. In 2006, after meeting future bandmates Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, the three performers began collaborating on songs, which eventually led to the creation of Lady Antebellum later that year. After getting their start in local bars, the band signed with Capitol Records in 2007 and ascended to international recognition owing to their heady combination of country, rock, and R&B over the next several years. Three of their albums achieved number one on both the country and mainstream charts during their amazing run from 2010 to 2014. Lady Antebellum went on sabbatical as 2015 came to a conclusion, during which Scott stated her plans to make a faith-based solo album with her family. Scott enlisted the help of her parents and younger sister Rylee to record a series of gospel songs with country and bluegrass great Ricky Skaggs as a producer on a project she said was near and dear to her heart. Hillary Scott & the Scott Family published the album Love Remains in July of 2016, and it was credited to Hillary Scott & the Scott Family. Billboard's Christian Albums list debuted at number one, and their Top Country Albums chart debuted at number two.
