Henny Admoni is an Associate Professor in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, where she directs the Human And Robot Partners (HARP) Lab. Currently on sabbatical at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm through August 2025, she focuses on human-robot interaction, assistive robotics, and nonverbal communication.
Her research develops intelligent robots that assist humans in complex tasks, such as meal preparation, by interpreting nonverbal cues like eye gaze to infer intentions. Admoni’s work, supported by the NSF, ONR, and Paralyzed Veterans of America, includes projects like wheelchair-mounted robot arms for individuals with motor impairments. She holds a PhD and M.S.
