Heather Booth is a civil rights leader, feminist, and political consultant from the United States who has been praised for her effective engagement in progressive issues. During her college years, she was active in both the civil rights and feminist movements. She's dedicated her career to feminism, community organizing, and progressive politics since then.
She has worked as an organizer since the 1960s when she was involved in the civil rights, anti-Vietnam War, and women's movements. She founded JANE, an illegal abortion business that existed before Roe v. Wade. She founded the Midwest Academy (www.midwestacademy.com), which trains social change leaders and organizers, and is currently its President.
