Hazeen Y. Ashby is the Senior Counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce Science and Transportation. In this capacity she serves as the Chief Counsel for the Minority Staff under Ranking Member Bill Nelson (D-Fl).Prior to arriving on the Hill Ms. Ashby was the Director for Technology & Telecom Policy at the National Urban League.
In that role she monitored policy developments related to technology telecommunications and the decennial census as well as directed advocacy strategies advancing the Urban League’s legislative agenda in those areas. Before joining the Urban League Ms. Ashby was the Senior Policy Counsel for the Culture Program at Third Way a centrist think tank.
