Harry Leibowitz is a philanthropist, a speaker, and a businessman. Leibowitz grew up in Brooklyn, New York, where his family resided in an old cottage on Coney Island where 10 families used the communal restroom facilities throughout World War II and until the early 1950s.
Leibowitz was 14 years old when his father died, and he had to work to support his family. He acquired a tremendous work ethic and an understanding of the situation of children born into difficult circumstances while working overnight in a bakery and then going to school all day.
