After finishing his studies at the extremely exclusive Institut d'Etude Politique and the Ecole Nationale d'Administration in 1969, he taught Economics at the prestigious Sciences Po Paris and a number of overseas universities (China, United States, Russia, Argentina). He quit public service to pursue writing, teaching, and publishing.
Sorman Editions, his publishing firm, was founded and operated by him in 1973. Founder and Honorary President of the worldwide NGO ‘Actions Contre La Faim' since 1979. Guy Sorman is also a member of the French National Commission for Human Rights, as well as the adjunct major and President of the city of Boulogne-Social Billancourt's and Economic Council.
