Guy Doud grew up in Staples Minnesota where he graduated from high school. He then graduated summa cum laude from Concordia College in Moorhead Minnesota in 1975.
Guy then moved to Brainerd Minnesota where he was employed by the Brainerd School District as a language arts teacher.As a high school language arts teacher in Brainerd Guy received the highest award that the education profession offers: he was chosen from more than two and one-half million teachers as the 1986 National Teacher of the Year for the United States of America and was honored at a ceremony at the White House by then President Ronald Reagan.
