The Groundlings are the oldest comedic company in Los Angeles. The Groundling has been entertaining audiences since 1974, with brief skits and sketches performed on stage, typically created on the moment in response to crowd requests.
In the modest (99-seat) theatre, Pee Wee Herman, Lisa Kudrow, Pat Morita, and Saturday Night Live veterans Chris Farley, Jon Lovitz, Phil Hartman, Julia Sweeney, Steve Guttenberg, and Laraine Newman all earned their big breaks.
