Gregory Abel is a Canadian Businessman. He currently serves as the Executive Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway Energy. In 2018 he was named Berkshire Hathaway’s Vice Chairman for Non-Insurance Business Operations. He has served on the board of directors since 2000.Abel earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Alberta. He is a certified public accountant from AICPA.
After graduating from the University of Alberta he trained as a chartered accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers until 1992 when he joined CalEnergy as a geothermal electricity producer.
