Laurie began hosting Harvest Crusades, large-scale public evangelistic gatherings, in 1990. Since then, more than 7.9 million individuals have attended Harvest Crusades events around the United States, either in person or online. Laurie created Harvest America in 2012, a countrywide event that broadcasts live HD footage to thousands of sites throughout the country via the internet. Harvest America is one of the largest gospel presentations in US history, with an astounding 306,000 people in attendance. Harvest Crusades have taken place all across the world, including in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. More significantly, 506,644 persons have professed religion as a result of these outreach efforts. Laurie is a featured speaker on A New Beginning, a nationally syndicated radio show that airs on more than 800 radio stations across the world. Laurie hosts a weekly television show on the Trinity Broadcasting Network and has featured on several other news shows. Laurie also sits on the board of directors of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, in addition to his work at Harvest Ministries. In 2013, he served as the Honorary Chairman of the National Day of Prayer. Biola University and Azusa Pacific University have awarded him honorary doctorates. Laurie has written over 70 books, which include Johnny Cash: The Redemption of an American Icon, Jesus Revolution, Steve McQueen: The Salvation of an American Icon, Live Love Fight, Tell Someone, The New Believer's Bible, Hope for Hurting Hearts, and his autobiography, Lost Boy, in addition to speaking and assisting other ministries. The documentary Lost Boy: The Next Chapter, as well as the feature film Hope for Hurting Hearts, have both received prizes at international film festivals. Steve McQueen: American Icon, his most recent film, tells the tale of the legendary actor finding redemption in Christ. Greg and Cathe Laurie have two boys and have been married for almost 40 years.
